ICC Champions Trophy: West Indies vs Pakistan
London will be in cricketing frenzy very soon. The ICC Champions Trophy, regarded as the second in importance to World Cup Cricket will be played in England and Wales between 06 and 23 June 2013 in the cities of London (The Oval), Birmingham (Edgbaston) and Cardiff (SWALEC Stadium).
The tournament has already brought global attention to London with perceived excitement to see the world’s top eight ODI teams showcasing their cricketing power in four round-robin games and in the semi-final. The winners await $2 million in prize money, which is the largest since its inception. There is one more attraction–this tournament will be the seventh and last of ICC Champions Trophy as it is being replaced by the ICC World Test Championship in 2017.

West Indies vs Pakistan
There is much excitement in store on the expected firework of the match between West Indias and Pakistan . The opening Group B clash will see 2004 winner West Indies taking on Pakistan. The matches against West Indies and those from the Indian subcontinent are hysteric with south London’s large Asian and Carribean populations coming out in force to cheer their dear heroes.
Kia Oval Cricket Ground
The Kia Oval or The Oval is nice a stadium to watch a one day cricket. The Oval is easily accessible from the main City, West End, and all south east counties. The word of caution is that on match days congestion will be high and it would be appreciated if fans do not ply their cars to the match venue.
As for transport The Oval can be reached via the Underground, by Rail, Bus and Car.
Underground: The Northern Line to the Oval tube station is the right link. The main entrance to the ground is only 100 metres from the station. The ground is a ten minute walk from Vauxhall tube station on the Victoria line.
By Rail: Vauxhall station well connected by trains throughout Surrey and Hampshire and those from the Greater London area
By Bus: Buses plying with route numbers 36, 185 and 436 will stop outside the ground and local services end at the side corner. Buses with numbers 59, 333, 109, 133, 3, 159, set down near the ground is a 5-minute walk distance from the stadium.
By Car: The ground is on A202 adjoining the junction A3 and A24, south of Vauxhall Bridge and some 10 minutes from Victoria and Waterloo.
Parking Constraints
Car parking may not be available on match day especially in the vicinity of the ground. So patrons are advised to use public transport only. However, parking is available for Blue Badge holders. But these are limited in number and distributed on a first come first served basis.
